I used to think authentication was just another backend feature.
Then I started building products where account access is directly tied to money.
That changes everything.
At Blink, we had to think beyond “Does login work?” and start asking deeper questions:
What happens when someone loses access to their email?
What happens under weak internet conditions?
How do you balance strict security without frustrating legitimate users?
The difficult part about building financial systems isn’t just preventing attacks.
It’s designing recovery and security flows that real people can survive during stressful moments.
Because when money is involved, usability is security too.
That perspective completely changed how I approach backend architecture.
